ChatGPT works in Georgia and in Georgian: OpenAI lists Georgia among its supported countries and Georgian among its supported interface languages. To start, all you need is a free account on chatgpt.com or in OpenAI’s official app. ChatGPT answers Georgian questions in Georgian, but for natural, accurate text you need a clear instruction and a quick check.
This guide covers sign-up, the differences between plans, the features that save time every day, and the settings to check on day one. Prices and features are as of October 2026. ChatGPT changes fast, so always glance at the official pages too.

ChatGPT sign-up: the official site and app
The official address is chatgpt.com. Signing up takes a few minutes:
- Open chatgpt.com or download the app from the App Store or Google Play. On Google Play, search for “openai chatgpt” and check that the developer is OpenAI.
- Select Sign up and choose how to log in: a Google or Apple account, a phone number or an email address.
- Follow the on-screen steps to confirm your account.
- Switch the interface to Georgian if you like. On the web: profile icon, Settings, General, Language. In the app: sidebar, profile, App, Language.
ChatGPT detects your browser language, but changing the language and using projects both require an account.
Fake “ChatGPT in Georgian” apps and sites
App stores and the web are full of apps and sites called “ChatGPT Georgian”, “Georgian ChatGPT” or “AI Chat” that have nothing to do with OpenAI. Some sell subscriptions, others live on ads or your data. OpenAI itself tells users to download only the app published by OpenAI. Four simple rules:
- Address. The web version lives at chatgpt.com. A “ChatGPT” on any other domain is not the official one.
- Publisher. The app listing must say OpenAI.
- Log-in. Never sign in with your Google or Apple account on an unknown site “to use ChatGPT”.
- No separate Georgian version is needed. The original ChatGPT already reads and writes Georgian.
ChatGPT free vs paid: which plan do you need?
The table shows what the official pricing page displayed when opened from Georgia in October 2026. Prices vary by country, and the checkout page shows the exact amount.
| Plan | Price per month | What it adds | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Chat with GPT-6; limited uploads, images, voice and deep research | Trying it out, occasional use |
| Go | $7 | More messages, uploads, images and voice chats; may show ads | Daily users |
| Plus | $20 | Reasoning models, more deep research, scheduled tasks | Work |
| Pro | from $118 | Three usage tiers, GPT-6 Astra, a dot agent | Heavy, all-day use |
Companies have separate Business and Enterprise plans. Business starts at two users, and by default OpenAI does not use content from these workspaces to train its models.
How to choose: use the free plan on real tasks for a week and note where you hit a limit. If that happens every day, try Go or Plus. Pro only pays off when ChatGPT is your main tool for the whole working day.
How good is ChatGPT in Georgian?
General text (emails, summaries, explanations, translation) often comes out well. The weak spots are elsewhere: noun cases and verb forms in long sentences, English sentence structure, extra pronouns, rare terms, Georgian proper names and local facts such as laws, prices and addresses. Six habits make a clear difference:
- State the language and style: “Write in natural, modern Georgian with short sentences, so it does not read like a translation.”
- Give an example. Paste one paragraph of your own writing and ask for the same tone.
- Give a term list for specialist topics: which words to use and which to avoid.
- Type in the Georgian alphabet. If you write in Latin transliteration (“qartulad”), the model may misread the task or answer in Latin letters too.
- Ask for a self-check: “Re-read the text, fix cases, verb forms and commas, then list what you changed.”
- Check names, dates and numbers yourself, every time.
For the full rules of a good instruction, read how to write a good prompt.
Write your Georgian style rules once in the project instructions (Project settings): tone, formal address, a term list and two examples. Every new chat in that project then starts at the same quality, and you spend less time writing prompts.

Using ChatGPT: voice, projects, memory and agents
Voice
You can talk to ChatGPT and hear the answer. The Live option listens and speaks at the same time, so interrupting feels natural. Change the language under Settings, Voice, Language, or simply ask it to switch during the conversation. Test Georgian speech on a short task before you rely on it. Voice chats are limited on the free plan.
Projects
A project keeps related chats, files and instructions together, for example “Work: client offers” or “Master’s: seminars”. File limits per project: Free 5, Go and Plus 25, Pro 40. Project instructions apply only inside that project and override your general settings.
Memory
With Memory on, ChatGPT remembers your preferences and details from earlier chats. Check Settings, Personalization, Memory to see what it remembers, correct it or delete it. Turning Memory off does not delete past chats.
Custom GPTs and plugins
As of October 2026, OpenAI plans to retire custom GPTs and recommends plugins instead: bundles of reusable instructions (skills) and connected apps. Personal accounts (Free, Go, Plus, Pro) can no longer create new GPTs, while existing ones still work. Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces can still create them, subject to workspace settings. Other ways to build your own Georgian-speaking bot are in how to build an AI chatbot without code.
Web search and deep research
When a question is about recent information (prices, news, schedules), ask ChatGPT to search the web and cite its sources. Deep research is a longer investigation: the model reads many sources and builds a report with links. It is limited on the free plan and expanded on Plus and Pro. Still check the report’s numbers and quotes yourself, especially on Georgian topics, where the model may lean on foreign or outdated data.
Images and files
You can upload a PDF, a spreadsheet or a photo and ask for a summary, an analysis or a list of errors. ChatGPT also creates images, but Georgian lettering inside an image often comes out garbled. Add the text afterwards in a design tool.
Dots: the always-on agent
A dot is a ChatGPT agent that keeps working between conversations: it has its own cloud computer, connects to the apps you choose and follows your approval rules. OpenAI introduced dots on 29 September 2026. At first they are available only on Pro and Business Premium, and not in every country.

Copy them, fill in the brackets and compare the results. Each prompt states the format, because a precise format gets a better answer. In Georgia you can write them in Georgian too.
1. Write a 120-word email to a client whose order is 3 days late.
Tone: polite, apologetic. End with two options to fix it.
2. From these meeting notes, list the tasks as a table:
task, owner, deadline. [paste notes]
3. Write a 5-point summary of my CV for the job [job title].
Use only the facts below.
4. Explain [topic] so a 9th-grader understands it. Then ask me
3 questions to check that I got it.
5. Turn these lecture notes into 10 flashcards (question and short
answer) for exam revision. [paste notes]
6. Check my essay for grammar and style. List each mistake and the
corrected version in a table. Do not rewrite the essay.
7. Plan a week of dinners for a family of 4 with products easy to
find in Georgia, plus a separate shopping list.
8. I can save 300 GEL a month. Make a simple budget table and give
me 5 ideas to cut costs.
9. Plan a 2-day family trip from Tbilisi to Kakheti, day by day, with
distances. At the end, tell me what I should double-check.
10. Translate this English text into natural Georgian. Keep the
terms in English in brackets. [paste text]Note the last sentence of prompt 9: when you ask the model to say what needs checking, invented details are easier to spot.
Privacy: the settings to change on day one
As of October 2026, these settings matter on a personal account:
- Model training. Settings, Data controls, “Improve the model for everyone”. When it is off, new conversations are not used to train models, but they stay in your history.
- Temporary Chat. It does not appear in history, does not create memories and is not used for training, but it may be kept for up to 30 days for safety.
- Feedback. If you give a response a thumbs up or down, that whole conversation may be used for training, even with training turned off.
- What you never paste: passwords, ID numbers, card details, health information and clients’ personal data.
Mistakes and hallucinations: how to check an answer
A hallucination is when the model confidently writes a number, source or quote that does not exist. Five checks catch the most common problems:
- Verify anything about laws, prices and deadlines against the official source.
- Ask for an answer with web search and links, then open the links yourself.
- Search for quotes and book titles: the model can invent a source.
- Ask for calculations step by step or as a spreadsheet formula.
- Have a person read anything important before it goes out.
Frequently asked questions
Is ChatGPT free to use in Georgia?
Yes. ChatGPT has a free plan, and it works in Georgia and in Georgian. On the free plan, uploads, images, voice chats and deep research are limited. For higher limits you need Go, Plus or Pro.
How do I change ChatGPT to Georgian?
On the web, select your profile icon, then Settings, General, Language, and choose Georgian. In the app, open the sidebar, then your profile, App, Language. You can only change the language when you are logged in.
Is there a separate Georgian ChatGPT app?
No. OpenAI has no separate Georgian version: the official ChatGPT works in Georgian. Apps and sites called “ChatGPT Georgian” are other companies’ products, so do not trust them with your money or data.
What is the minimum age for ChatGPT?
Under OpenAI’s Terms of Use, you must be at least 13, or the minimum age in your country if it is higher. Users under 18 need a parent’s or legal guardian’s permission. Parents can manage a linked teen account through parental controls.
ChatGPT or Gemini: which is better for Georgian?
Both list Georgian as a supported language, and quality depends on the task. Run the same prompt in both and compare. For Google’s assistant, see the Gemini guide, and for a three-way comparison read ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.
